With This Ring

With this ring I hereby bind

My blood my feet my sight with thine.

Its metal hoop will be my strength,

In human falls, life's short length.

Proud enough to make this vow;

The pride that fear and shame allow.

The knotted beads, the polished band,

With this ring, I both souls damn.

With these words, with these ears,

With these hands, my joys and fears,

Your laugh your cry, each breath, goodbye.

With these words I milk you dry.

And with each pause I hear you dear,

With each sigh and every tear.

In silence and in naked day,

With this love, with you, I pray.
