FLYING AND REMEMBERING
I wrote a letter to you once
The lines too long and weedy
A trying hard to spell things out
I left it just there bleeding
So, in tiny bouncy rhyme
Return to raging river
And trust in playful conscious beats
That music truth delivers
My Budding breathing trampoline
I bounce atop your words
And spring beyond the skinny line
With riches more incurred
Speed and deed and source direction
Tripled by momentum
From your lived elasticity
Your pointed circumvention
Now I'm a thousand wickered light
That charges from its purpose
My audience is my source and end
It jolts alive my circus
So every time each word Love sends
By wind in my direction
Reignites a flame to burn
Off anchors, chained ascension
But both sides now - our common song
Sunday church a' teaming
Air and dirt, prance and pause
A flying and remembering.
---------
I haven't waxed poetic enough
Told you how much I love you
Showed you what you've given me
What I must now grow into
I haven't flown as high as you
The way you seem to go
This brown balloon has string that hangs
From things loved long ago
But as I speak myself to you
My flaming throng of one
I hope you feel my both-sides-now
And know as yours I come
