We Have No Photos Together
We have no photos together
Well, it’s only been three weeks
Or is it three months
Closer to six
Oh who cares what the rule books think
And my fridge is covered in others
Who do not look like you
Unless I look closely
Which must be the correct point of view
For then I swear they do
Your smile would be the first thing
Anyone could notice
No choice when faced with its blinging light bolus
But your eyes your stars
Held in morning noon and night jars
Your windows into a heart
That looks just like the stilled life of every friend I love
When I know what I’m searching for
When I open my own door
Reflection is a transparent dove
We have no photos together
Because photos are for friends
In sincere gestures of joy
With you, there have been no such turns to capture need
In your eyes is the living deed.
