COACH-ED

a love poem

He walked our path ahead and showed me where to step

And then in playful trickery he jumped behind instead

Forging paths begins he said with forging fears and tears

And then we skip like children across our greener years

Coach will guide beginnings over and once again

And then he guards your journey, how you shape your terrain

And wards off only terrors you’ve yet to learn to love

And holds them in his bear hugs until you rise above

Forging paths begins with forging fears, he said

But courage sometimes asks for love, a coach with whom to tread.
